The challenges of containing urban spraw

The concept of sprawl has always been a topic for debate.  Sprawl differs from city to city and state to state.  Sprawl in Arizona or California could look completely different from sprawl in Georgia.  

One big commonality is that sprawl often holds single-family residential.  Amid a housing crisis, this may not be the most efficient use of land.

Suburbs have the potential to provide a diverse variety of housing options, including affordable housing.  This could be through eliminating parking minimums and providing zoning options besides just single-family residential.
