As urban planners, there is always opportunity to learn and grow and DLBP takes pride in staying up-to-date and ahead of the curve, with smart urban planning best practices.  One excellent source of literature is The Smart Growth Manual by Andres Duany, Jeff Speck, and Mike Lydon.  This guide details the significance of implementing smart growth best practices into urban and regional planning to create more resilient and economically thriving communities and development. 

DLBP is interested in the recently announced new Town Center to be established in Johns Creek by Medley / Avalon, which is replacing previously empty office parks in Johns Creek.  This mixed-use development will help establish what every thriving city needs – a sense of place.  

As Georgia’s population continues to grow throughout the Atlanta Metropolitan and beyond, so have those who oppose this growth, which urban planners tend to term NIMBYs or ‘Not in My Backyard.’
